This recipe has been in my family for over 60 years and my mom only makes it at Christmas time and usually in huge quantities! A bowl of this party mix is always out and it's a great evening snack.

Recipe:
2 pounds mixed nuts
1 X 12 ounces Shredded Wheat
1 X 10 ounces plain Cherrios
1 X 6 ounces Rice Chex
1 X 5 ounces slim pretzel sticks
2 cups of vegetable oil
2 Tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
1 Tablespoon of garlic salt
1 Tablespoon of seasoning salt

Mix all ingredients in large baking pan. Bake at 250 F for 2 hours stirring every 20 minutes.

The recipe for the Victoria Cream Chocolates is over 135 years old, they still use Mr Rogers' original recipe. Filled with naturally flavoured whip creme and smothered in dark chocolate, these decadent chocolates, wrapped in their iconic gingham packaging, are nostalgic and delicious. There are now over 20 flavours but our favorite has always been the peppermint cream.

Jonathan makes amazing house cured meats, sausages, terrines and pates, but he also carries a wonderful selection of gourmet cheeses and during the holiday season it's imperative to consume as much cheese as possible! The selection will vary depending on what Jonathan has in stock but trust it will be a slice of heaven.

Important Information

  • Keep your foodie passport safe like you would a real one. We can’t replace lost passports and this is the only way to acquire your tasting samples.
  • You may be required to show proof of vaccine, to be safe it is best to bring this on the tour.
  • The passport is valid for 2 weeks once you pick-it up from our kiosk so use it up! After the expiration date the foodie samples are no longer valid.
  • If you choose to complete the tour in one-day, plan for at least 2-3 hours of walking and tasting.
  • You will need headphones to listen to the commentary on your phone. Bring your own or we sell them for $7. You could also play the tour on your phone speaker.
  • You will need a fully charged cell phone to run the app. Please charge your cell phone before starting the tour, you are welcome to charge it at the kiosk.
  • Please note that you will need to know your Apple ID in order to download the APP. You may want to have this information handy before you come to pick-up the passport at the kiosk.
  • Hours and times of food businesses change, especially on holidays. For the most up-to-date information please contact the business directly.
  • There is roughly 1.5 KM (0.8 Miles) of light walking. We suggest wearing appropriate footwear and dress for the weather!
  • This is not a VIP access card that lets you jump the queue. You may have to wait in line or wait for a table at certain spots. We recommend visiting during non-peak times. Sorry, even we have to wait sometimes!
  • The answer is yes, you should definitely leave a gratuity. These are small businesses working incredibly hard and it is our local custom to tip wait staff, counter staff, and really anyone that flashes a smile and serves you food + drinks. A Toonie or Loonie will do.

Dietary Concerns

We are unable to make substitutions for any dietary allergies. This tour is not suitable for those with a gluten or dairy allergy. A few things to consider:

  1. While the food is a very important aspect of the tour you will still enjoy the commentary and stories that come with the tour so if there is one or two stops you may skip we still think the tour is worth it!
  2. We have more control over dietary requests on our guided tours. If you have allergies we would suggest joining us on our guided tours.
